Valentine Tic-Tac-Toe

Valentine Tic-Tac-Toe

During holidays my Christmas Tic Tac Toe game was a huge hit so I was looking for something similar for Valentine's Day.

The idea was to crochet some small hearts and make the base for the game from felt. I was searching the internet and found a very nice and easy heart crochet pattern at Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom. The pattern is well written and easy to follow, thanks Jamie for sharing it with us.

I user light purple and light pink threads for the hearts. As you can see, the thickness of these threads is different so the size of the tiny hearts is slightly different.

I can't wait to play with this game.

Felt Christmas Coasters

Felt Christmas Coasters

It is almost Christmas so I made some Christmas themed felt coasters. I used the same technique as for my felt coasters from fall.

Felt Christmas Coasters

The base is a piece of white felt, 10 cm by 10 cm (~4in), and the “binding” is green. I glued all the small parts to the base using a simple glue stick. After glueing the binding for the first one I remembered, that it is way easier to glue the white base instead of all the small pieces since felt is not that rigid.

After the nine patch coaster was ready I just realised that it is perfect for another Christmas Tic Tac Toe.

Christmas Tic Tac Toe

We love playing board games so I made a Christmas Edition Tic Tac Toe game for us. I recently found this nice little red velvet purse that give me the idea. This also makes it a nice travel bag game. Instead of Xs and Os the game pieces are small brass bells and wooden snowflakes.

Did you know, that there are 255,168 unique games of Tic Tac Toe to be played. Of these, 131,184 are won by the first player, 77,904 are won by the second player, and 46,080 are drawn. If neither player makes a mistake, the game is drawn. Thanks, Jesper Juul!
