Felt Bracelets

About a year ago I made a pink felt bracelet for my daughter. She really likes it, she wears it a lot, and it was even washed a couple of times. This week she asked me to make another one, but this time a blue one. (I think, she is now into her blue period...) So I made her a new bracelet.

I used similar wool blend felt in both cases. After making something from wool I’m always concerned of how’s it holding up. Comparing the old and new bracelets I can see the difference between them. If you take a look at the images of the pink bracelet, you can see some of the pills highlighted with arrows. I know, that all felt will pill and fuzz over time depending on how you use it, but actually it is not that bad, it can be corrected. Let’s see what happens with the blue bracelet after a few months…

Winter Felt Coasters

After a long holiday break I’m back with some winter felt coasters.

I was playing with some easy quilting blocks and tried some block transformations.

Felt Scraps Necklaces

Lately I’ve been getting a little too excited over handmade jewellery and made a list of easy and fun projects I want to share with you over the next couple of weeks. I think jewellery doesn’t have to be always expensive, time consuming or difficult to make and I decided to show you lots of lovely projects that are beautiful, inexpensive and simple to achieve. Here are some ideas to get you started.

The first one is a Felt Scraps Necklace, where I used some of my white and blue scraps I had. First I cut my felt scraps to little squares and then threaded them randomly on a yarn. This way all necklaces are unique and different from one another.

My second necklace is a Morse Felt Necklace. For this project I cut some small disks out of felt and threaded them to have my name in Morse Code. I made this necklace more than a year ago and washed in a washing mashine with regular cloth several times. Seems that it keeps the shape very well but I suggest not to wash it just if it is really really necessary.

Using these techniques you can also make bracelets.

Frozen Elsa Doll Dress

A few years ago I decided to make a doll for my daughter. I researched all over the internet and came up with a pattern of my own. This is my first 40 cm doll and I learned a lot during the process of making it.

My daughter is still obsessed with Frozen so she got an Elsa dress for herself and then asked me to make a similar dress for her doll. Well… Challenge accepted, here is the result… (I know, Elsa's hair is not braun, but I could't change that.)

Do you recognise the memory quilt I used for the background? :) The shoes are made from felt, and you can use the following pattern to create something similar. Please note, that you should adjust the size of the shoe to fit your doll's feet.

Felt heart

A few days ago I created a necklace for my daughter. The string is crocheted and the medal is a felt heart filled with lavender, salt, and lots of love. She likes it :)
